Is your dog so excited and they just can't hide it?
-
Does your dog love life so much that their brain turns off?
-
Do they jump around and bark when they see a friend?
-
Do they try to climb on your guests and hump them or hold them in their mouth?
-
Do they struggle to take "no" for an answer or struggle to read social cues that someone is just not into them?
We can help!
Imagine having a dog that gets excited and still listens to you.
-
They see a guest come inside your home and they sit politely while wagging their tail as hard as they can to show that they want to say hi.
-
They get overstimulated and run to go get their toy instead of trying to stick the guest in their mouth.
-
You tell them that they can't do something and instead of having a meltdown, they shake it off, and go do something else.

Yes even your excited dog can learn a little bit of self-control. And, even better, you don't have to micromanage them to get there.

Program Details
Initial Consult
We start with a Virtual Consult. This is a 45 min meeting via Zoom.

The purpose of this meeting is to get to know each other a little bit. Your trainer will ask you some questions about you, your dog, and your household. They will provide you with some management advice (what to do when you have guests over or see something your dog is excited about) and give you instructions for how to prepare for your first in person lesson.

Private Lessons
These are 45 min long lessons at your home or in your neighbourhood.

Your trainer will guide you through what to do with your excited dog, demonstrate training for you, and be a guinea pig "guest" for you to practice with. They will point out your dog's body language so that you can better understand their feelings and adjust for them before their brain shuts down. They will also help you set up your environment in order to help your dog keep their marbles.

After your lesson, you will receive notes summarizing what to practice before your next lesson.

In order to help you and your dog succeed, we offer Private Lessons in packages of 3. We find that repetition is key, especially for dogs that get over-excited, and so we do not offer single lessons.

If you sign up for an additional set of 3 In-Home Private Lessons, you also get access to 3 Virtual Office Hours. These are optional opportunities to ask questions of your trainer and to listen to the questions of other students.
Rainbow Group Field Trips
Rainbow Group Field Trips are a members-only group outing to a public location so that we can work on our dogs' feelings in a semi-controlled setting. When you and your dog are ready, your trainer will invite you to the Rainbow Field Trips program.

Every team in the Field Trip will receive:
-
A walkie-talkie so that your trainer can provide direction and instruction
-
A colour coded bandana indicating how close other people/dogs can get to you
-
A quick pep-talk at the start
-
A quick debrief at the end
-
Approximately 30 min of working time

We plan to start doing field trips in Spring 2026.

Field Trips are a fantastic way to translate your practice to real life. For excited dogs, it gives you a great opportunity to practice at a distance and to practice around dogs who may not actually want to say "hi" back.
Meet Your Trainer
Hi! My name is Logan and I'm a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA) as well as a certified high school teacher (OCT).

I've been there with my own excited dogs both big and small! I know how embarrassing it can be to introduce them to new people when they are jumping, barking, or even excited peeing. I also know how exhausting it can be to try to fit training in to my already busy schedule and how discouraging it can be to avoid situations that I know my dog would love (just a little bit too much).
The good news is - you don't have to do this alone.

I've had high energy dogs for over a decade and I've learned a lot of tactics for working with them. I've helped many families go from so embarrassed that they leave the dog at home to being able to include the dog in more parts of their lives. Some of them have gone from needing to crate the dog whenever people come over, to having a dog that can greet people without kissing them or headbutting them. Others have gone from crossing the road to avoid innocent bystanders, to being able to let their dogs say hi to these new BFFs.
You can do this too.

Not sure where to start?
Want calmer greetings but you're not sure about committing to a whole package right away?

Start with the Initial Consult.

We'll chat about your dog's current strategies and what you'd like them to do instead. We'll help you set up your environment so that your guests don't get bowled over as soon as they step in the front door and so that your dog has to think in order to get what they want. From there, we'll come up with a plan to include your dog in more of your life without their excitement ruining it for everyone.
Not sure what type of training (Reactive, Fearful, Excited) that you need? Fill out an Intake form and we'll guide you to the best fit for your current goals.
