Reactive Dog Video Course

Does your dog react to other dogs by barking, lunging, or staring like a statue? Does your dog get overwhelmed when other dogs get close but seem OK at a distance? Whether your dog is excited or afraid or a combination of the two, we can help your dog shift their feelings and calm down about other dogs.

We see reactivity as an emotional regulation issue. Your dog struggles to handle their big feelings about the trigger (whatever set them off) and these feelings lead to their reaction. We want to teach your dog how to handle those feelings and help them stay in a thinking state, instead of a reactive state.

This pre-recorded video course covers the basics that we find ourselves going over with most of our new reactive dog clients and is divided into five sections:

  1. What reactivity is, how stress works, and how counter conditioning helps

  2. Exposure games: games to play IN the reactive moment

  3. Decompression games: games to play AFTER the reactive moment

  4. Escape games: games to play to AVOID the reactive moment

  5. Putting it all together with a walk survival strategy
